Churches unite to bring hope to their town

Narrow cobbled streets, warmly-lit shop windows, the bustle of shoppers in the Christmas market, hurrying to their next destination… This was my first impression of Chalon-sur-Saône on the last Saturday before Christmas.

In a shining example of unity, the “Espace Evangélique”, an independent Evangelical church with a heart for the lost, had teamed up with three other local churches for monthly outreaches. They had invited us to carry out training in mime and sketchboard to equip them with additional tools for sharing their faith in creative ways. After two intensive training sessions we took to the streets to share the real meaning of Christmas. This will be followed up with two planned outreach weeks with OM in 2014.

Their strategically-placed building in the heart of the town centre, has a dedicated coffee lounge ideally suited to casual chats about the Gospel over a cup of hot chocolate. Also, Christian artists may display their works leading to discussions about the Master Creator. Please pray that God will provide the right team for Easter and the summer, when we will be making an impact on the local arts festival. We need dancers, artists and others! Come and join us!
